Will I receive a Red Cross certificate?
Certification is offered for an additional $3. Your cards will be mailed directly to you in 5-7 days.

How long is my Red Cross Certificate Valid?
Your certificate is valid for one year.

Why only a year? Some organizations offer a two-year certificate?
The American Red Cross has determined that in order to keep your skills at their sharpest, it is best to renew them yearly. We align with this philosophy.

Will I be taught Child and Infant CPR in your class?
Yes, all aspects of child and infant CPR/First Aid are covered

Can a Teenager be Certified for CPR?
Absolutely. After the age of 13, most teenagers can easily understand all aspects of CPR and Basic First Aid training.

If our employees are CPR/First Aid certified, will our company insurance premiums be discounted?
If your staff is professionally trained and certified, your insurance carrier may provide a discount. Discounts will vary for different carriers. For further details, please contact your insurance broker.

Can I be sued for administering CPR/First Aid in an attempt to save a person's life?
As stated in the Good Samaritan Acts in the United States and Canada:
"Any person who, in good faith, renders emergency medical care or assistance to an injured person at the scene of an accident or other emergency without the expectation of receiving or intending to receive compensation from such injured person for such service, shall not be liable in civil damages for any act or omission, not constituting gross negligence, in the course of such care or assistance."

Does your staff train the public on the use of a Defibrillator (AED)?
Yes, A HERO FOR LIFE can additionally provide training on all aspects of operating a defibrillator. We use the "Defibtech Defibrillator" for all training. We are also an authorized provider of this unit. This unit is rated high on user friendliness and reliability. (For further details, see our page on AED)

What is the cost of the class?
The fee is $45 per person with a minimum group of 6 people.

Do you offer private home instruction for just my family even if there is only 3 of us?
Yes, but the minimum fee for up to 6 people is $275.
